Pawtucket stabbing near Shea High School leaves teen injured, two in custody

PAWTUCKET, R.I. — A stabbing in Pawtucket prompted a large police response Monday after a teenager was found injured at the scene.

Officers responding to Clyde Street discovered a 16-year-old boy suffering from a stab wound and rushed him to the hospital, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.

Police take two suspects into custody

Authorities said a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old were taken into custody in connection with the incident. 

The 17-year-old was identified by investigators as the person responsible for the stabbing. The teen was held overnight at the Rhode Island Training School, and it is unclear what charges will be filed.

Heavy police presence reported

The area was heavily secured as officers taped off the scene and blocked traffic while investigating.

Residents reported seeing multiple cruisers and a significant law enforcement presence as detectives worked to gather evidence.

Investigation ongoing

Officials have not shared further information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The case remains under active investigation.
