FOSTER, R.I. — A beloved rescue dog named Sprout is getting ready to celebrate a milestone birthday while helping other animals in need.
Sprout, who is turning 21, will mark the occasion with a special Facebook Live celebration on March 24 at 6 p.m. The event will feature cake, gifts, and surprises, while also raising money for other rescue animals.
Fundraiser will support senior rescue pets
The birthday celebration is being organized by Vintage Pet Rescue, which cares for senior and special needs dogs.
Donations collected during the event will go toward veterinary care, food, supplies, and treats for Sprout and other rescue animals.
Organizers say the fundraiser is a way to celebrate Sprout’s life while also helping other pets receive the care they need.
Fans invited to join celebration
Supporters are encouraged to tune in to the live event and take part in the celebration.
In the lead up to the birthday, Sprout has been trying on different outfits, with followers invited to help choose the best look for the big day.
How to donate
Those who want to contribute can donate through the rescue’s website or via Venmo at @vintagepetrescue.
Organizers say every donation will help provide critical care and comfort to senior dogs in their care.
