The 2025 Rhode Island election results:

Early results show that Jill Davidson has won the Democratic nomination for the Ward 2 Providence City Council special election, earning strong support from voters on the East Side.

The seat was left open when Helen Anthony resigned to prioritize her recovery after being seriously injured in an ATV accident in California two years ago.

With nearly 50% of the vote, Davidson defeated David Caldwell, Jeffrey Levy, and Matt McDermott. She will advance to face Republican Axel Brito in the special election set for Tuesday, December 2.

Meanwhile, in Central Falls, voters took part in a historic election, choosing members for the city’s new hybrid school board for the first time. The nine-member board will include four elected members, four appointed by the mayor, and one appointed by the state, a structure approved by voters in June.

Preliminary results show that Carla Melissa Hernandez, Lizsandra Paneto Gullon, Zuhanna I. Medina, and Erika Natalia Vallejo Calderon were elected to serve on the board.
