Body pulled from Providence River near pedestrian bridge

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — An investigation is underway after a body was pulled from the Providence River early Friday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the area near the Providence Pedestrian Bridge around 4 a.m. Friday. Police taped off the scene shortly after arriving.

Investigators say the victim appears to be a man in his late 20s or early 30s.

Details remain limited as police work to determine how the body ended up in the water.
