Gunpoint Kidnapping Suspect Arrested After Victim Reportedly Forced Into Car in Providence

Just after midnight Thursday, Providence Police responded to Crimea Street off Chalkstone Avenue to reports of a man with a gun. Witnesses told officers a man had forced a woman in into his vehicle at gunpoint and took off.

Around 1:57 a.m., a Connecticut State Trooper spotted the suspect’s vehicle at a rest area on I-95 in Madison, about 85 miles from Providence. Inside were a man and woman, matching the BOLO alert issued by Providence Police.

The man was arrested on-site and a firearm was seized.

The condition of the victim have not yet been announced The investigation remains ongoing. Stay tuned for when more details are released. 🚙😳🚓
