DEDHAM, M.A. — The day multiple not guilty verdicts were issued in the Karen Read trial, Rhode Island blogger John DePetro was accused of backing into a parked pickup truck with Texas plates while leaving the courthouse in Dedham, Massachusetts.

A bystander claimed he shattered the vehicle’s back taillight in the incident.

Cellphone video circulating on social media shows a woman stating she has dash cam footage of the alleged incident. Additional footage shows DePetro picking up pieces of what bystanders say was the broken taillight.

Dedham police confirmed to us that no official accident report was filed, but there was a “paper exchange” involving DePetro.

The twist? DePetro was critical of Read over the broken taillight, which prosecutors claimed was key evidence in the case.
