LINCOLN, R.I. — A routine traffic stop in Lincoln on August 25, 2025, resulted in the seizure of illegal narcotics and the arrest of two people from Woonsocket, according to police.

Officers said that as they attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation, they saw a bag thrown from the passenger-side window. The item was recovered at the scene and was found to contain approximately 19 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 12 grams of suspected powder cocaine.

Police identified the driver as 47-year-old Joshua Withee and the passenger as 34-year-old Amanda Bergeron. Both were taken into custody following the investigation.

Bergeron has been charged with three counts of possession with intent to deliver, as well as conspiracy and obstruction of a police officer. Withee faces the same drug and conspiracy charges, in addition to driving on a suspended license for the fourth time and multiple traffic violations.

“Thanks to the officers’ efforts, these narcotics are off our streets and those responsible are now facing justice,” the department said in a statement, adding that it remains committed to keeping neighborhoods safe.
