RHODE ISLAND — A new action movie, Carthage Must Be Destroyed, is coming to Rhode Island this fall and it’s being produced by none other than Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Filming is set to begin this October, with one of the filming locations being the Rhode Island State House. The film follows a mysterious outsider who enters a crumbling city ruled by crime — and begins to dismantle the corrupt power structure from within.
The project is directed by Ocean’s Eleven writer Ted Griffin and is being brought to life by Rhode Island’s own Verdi Productions, alongside Ketchup Entertainment, Appian Way, and Sikelia Productions.
Another big win for Rhode Island’s film industry. Stay tuned, Hollywood is rolling into town.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese have formed one of Hollywood’s most iconic director-actor collaborations, with their partnership spanning over two decades. Their first film together, Gangs of New York (2002), marked the beginning of a dynamic relationship that would redefine DiCaprio’s career. Scorsese, known for his gritty, intense filmmaking style, recognized DiCaprio’s talent and cast him in increasingly complex roles. Their collaboration continued with The Aviator(2004), The Departed (2006), Shutter Island (2010), and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), with each film showcasing their evolving creative synergy.
