NEWPORT, R.I. — Newport’s 9th Annual Oyster & Chowder Festival Brings Local Flavor to the Waterfront.

Newport’s most delicious spring tradition is back. The 9th Annual Newport Oyster & Chowder Festival will take place on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12 at Bowen’s Wharf, transforming the historic waterfront into a celebration of Rhode Island’s best seafood.

Visitors can expect a weekend filled with freshly shucked oysters from Rhode Island and Southern New England farms, steaming bowls of chowder, craft beverages, and live music. Dozens of local growers and chefs will be on hand offering samples and full plates, showcasing the flavors of Narragansett Bay in every bite.

The festival isn’t just about food—it’s a full experience. With harbor views, artisan vendors, and entertainment throughout the day, it’s a must-attend event for foodies and families alike.

Organized by the Bowen’s Wharf Company, the event supports local aquaculture and sustainable seafood practices through the Rhode Island Shellfish Initiative, ensuring the health of local waters for generations to come.
