Officials say Matunuck Oyster Bar fire likely a total loss

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. — A fire at Matunuck Oyster Bar in South Kingstown early on the morning of May 20 caused extensive damage to the iconic waterfront restaurant.

According to fire officials, the building suffered major structural damage and appears to be a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
