Will Taylor Swift’s wedding be in Rhode Island?

NEWPORT, R.I. — Rumors are circulating that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may be eyeing one of America’s most famous estates, The Breakers in Newport, Rhode Island, as the possible venue for what could become one of the most talked-about weddings in pop culture history.

According to multiple online reports, the couple, both 35, have allegedly chosen June 13, 2026, a date that coincides with Swift’s well-known lucky number 13. Some sources even claim the pair have secured the Vanderbilt family’s historic mansion, with one bride reportedly being offered compensation to move her own wedding date.

Taylor Swift Rhode Island wedding rumor

“She was contacted by the venue and asked if she’d consider changing the date of her wedding,” podcast host Fiona Sheasaid in a recent episode, adding that the celebrity in question was “allegedly Taylor Swift.”

The speculation has renewed public fascination with The Breakers, a centerpiece of Newport’s Gilded Age splendor.

Built between 1893 and 1895 for railroad tycoon Cornelius Vanderbilt II, the 70-room mansion was designed by Richard Morris Hunt in the Italian Renaissance style. The 125,000-square-foot residence boasts 50-foot ceilings, 27 fireplaces, and Baccarat crystal chandeliers so heavy they required steel reinforcements.

Inside, ornate details include carved walnut, Spanish leather wall panels, and art imported from across Europe. The grand music room, modeled after the Paris Opera House, was built in France and shipped to Newport for assembly. A 500-year-old fireplace from a French château anchors the library, while manicured Italian-style gardens stretch toward the Atlantic.

Originally built for about $7 million (roughly $263 million today), The Breakers is now valued near $500 million, with its furnishings and artwork alone estimated at $78 million.

Today, the mansion is owned by the Preservation Society of Newport County, which has firmly dismissed the wedding rumors.

“Taylor Swift is not getting married at The Breakers, or any other property the society operates,” spokesperson Gary Ruff said in a statement.

Even so, speculation continues that Swift and Kelce could hold their ceremony elsewhere in coastal Rhode Island, possibly at the Ocean House Hotel, located near Swift’s own Watch Hill estate, Holiday House.

Swift’s Rhode Island home has long served as her private getaway and the setting for her well-known Fourth of July gatherings, which have drawn stars such as Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid, and Selena Gomez.

Whether the rumors prove true or not, one thing is certain: if Taylor Swift does choose to say “I do” in Rhode Island, it would be a moment as grand and timeless as Newport’s storied mansions themselves.
