Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel is only 13, but he’s inspired thousands.
Since being diagnosed with brain and spinal cancer in 2018, DJ has undergone over 13 brain surgeries and was once given just five months to live. Instead of giving up, he set out to fulfill a dream—becoming an honorary police officer across the country.
That dream brings him to Bristol, Rhode Island this Saturday, where he’ll be sworn in by the Bristol Police Department and more than 10 other law enforcement agencies from across Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
📍 The ceremony will be held at 5:30 PM at Roger Williams University, just before the town’s Fourth of July Concert Series begins.
DJ’s journey has captured national attention. In March 2025, he was recognized by President Donald Trump during the State of the Union address, where he was celebrated for his bravery and sworn in as an honorary Secret Service agent.
With over 1,400 departments now having honored him, DJ continues to prove that strength, courage, and heart have no age limit.
