TIVERTON, R.I. — A 46-year-old man was arrested Monday after allegedly assaulting two elderly relatives and leading police on a multi-jurisdiction chase, according to Tiverton police.
Greg Frazer, of Little Compton, faces multiple charges, including two counts of domestic violence, assault on persons 60 years of age or older causing bodily harm and eluding police in a high-speed pursuit, vandalism, and other offenses.
Officers responded to Hancock Estates at 345 Hancock Street around 5:49 p.m. following several 911 calls reporting an ongoing assault. Police said Frazer attacked two family members, ages 64 and 82, before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. Investigators said he struck a parked car while leaving and drove off recklessly.
According to the police report, several officers attempted to stop Frazer, but he drove dangerously around their cruisers. A pursuit was initiated while other officers remained at the scene to assist fire department personnel treating the victims.
The chase continued into Fall River, Massachusetts, before reentering Tiverton. Police said they ended their pursuit after confirming Frazer’s identity and verifying his possible address in Little Compton.
Shortly after, Little Compton police spotted Frazer and pursued him until he pulled into the parking lot of the Little Compton Public Safety Complex at 60 Simmons Road. He surrendered without further incident.
Once transported to Tiverton Police Department for processing, Frazer allegedly became combative, resisted officers, and attempted to damage equipment in the booking room, including breaking the booking camera, according to Deputy Chief Michael Miguel.
The two victims of the alleged assault were treated for their injuries and are expected to make a full recovery, police said.
