PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Hundreds of dog lovers showed up to the WaterFire Arts Center on Saturday for Always Adopt’s signature mega adoption event. With over 300 dogs and puppies from 10 local shelters and rescue groups, the event offered a chance for families to meet their potential new best friend in a relaxed, friendly setting.

“Always Adopt” dog adoption event

Visitors were able to interact with adoptable dogs on leash, helping both families and rescues find the right fit. Many of the dogs came from difficult backgrounds but were full of love and hope for a fresh start. Each rescue had different adoption processes and fees, and event organizers were on hand to help guide people through the steps.

We were there capturing the action — from the tiniest puppies to calm, loyal older dogs. Check out our photos on Instagram to see some of the heartwarming moments and meet a few dogs still looking for their forever homes.

Local food trucks added to the festive vibe, and the crowd came ready to make a difference.

Missed it? Don’t worry — the next Always Adopt event will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Clark Farms in Matunuck, RI from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. (with early entry at 10 a.m.).

Mark your calendars — hundreds of dogs will be waiting to meet you!
