Man arrested on gun and drug charges at home day care

CRANSTON, R.I. — A Cranston man was arrested Thursday on gun and drug charges at a home day care, according to Rhode Island State Police.

Aaron Cabreja, 31, was taken into custody at a residence on Western Promenade, where investigators seized 55 grams of fentanyl, 10 grams of crack cocaine, and a loaded firearm found in his vehicle.

Police say the home is registered as Promenade Kids, and is run by Cabrera’s girlfriend’s mother.

He faces multiple charges, including:

• Possession with intent to deliver fentanyl

• Possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine

• Distribution of a controlled substance in a school zone

• Possession of a firearm during a drug offense

No children were in the home at the time of the search. An investigation by the Rhode Island Department of Human Services is being conducted.
