PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Traffic Alert: Crash on I-95 Northbound at Exit 35 (US-1A/Thurbers Ave.) in Providence. The right lane and right shoulder are blocked, causing a backup stretching into Warwick. First responders are on the scene expect heavy delays and seek alternate routes if possible.

Current traffic information regarding crashes can be found on the Rhode Island Department of Transportation’s website. The website features real-time camera views from various locations on state-owned highways and roads.

The Thurbers Avenue curve on I-95 in Providence has become a well-known trouble spot for drivers, frequently the scene of crashes and near misses. The sharp curve, combined with heavy traffic and frequent lane changes, makes it one of the more dangerous stretches of highway in the state. Since the Washington Bridge was shut down, traffic congestion in the area has grown significantly worse, forcing more drivers onto I-95 and further increasing delays and accident risks along the already congested Thurbers Avenue curve.
