The Thurbers Avenue curve on I-95 in Providence has become a well-known trouble spot for drivers, frequently the scene of crashes and near misses. The sharp curve, combined with heavy traffic and frequent lane changes, makes it one of the more dangerous stretches of highway in the state. Since the Washington Bridge was shut down, traffic congestion in the area has grown significantly worse, forcing more drivers onto I-95 and further increasing delays and accident risks along the already congested Thurbers Avenue curve.
