PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A driver is facing DUI charges following a two-car crash that ended with one vehicle engulfed in flames Monday night in Providence.

The collision happened shortly before 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of Point Street and East Franklin Street, not far from the I-95 North and I-195 West ramps. Responding officers arrived to find one of the cars severely damaged and on fire.

Two people inside the burning vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was also injured in the crash.

Police say the driver now facing charges showed signs of impairment at the scene and was later charged with driving under the influence. 😮🚨🚔
