BARRINGTON, R.I. — A memorial dog park honoring Christine “Cece” Conrad Lane, who was killed alongside her son in the mid-air Potomac plane collision January 29, 2025, was officially dedicated Saturday during a ceremony held on what would have been her birthday.Community members, local officials and members of Rhode Home Rescue attended the event marking the opening of the Christine Conrad Lane Memorial Dog Park.

Lane was a volunteer with Rhode Home Rescue and was known for her involvement in animal rescue efforts throughout the community. Alongside her son, Spencer, she helped care for and place rescue dogs into permanent homes.

The memorial follows the deaths of Lane and her son in the Jan. 29, 2025, mid-air collision over the Potomac River.Organizers said the dog park was created to honor Lane’s contributions to animal rescue and provide a space for residents and their pets to gather.

Speakers at the dedication highlighted Lane’s commitment to rescue work and the impact she had on local animal welfare efforts. The park is expected to serve as both a community space and a lasting tribute to her legacy.
