Fire breaks out at Apple Valley Mall in Smithfield

SMITHFIELD, RI — Shortly after 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning, the Smithfield Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at Apple Valley Mall.

Early reports indicate the fire started toward the rear of the TJ Maxx store. At this time, it’s unclear how the fire started or whether anyone was injured.

Fire crews were seen arriving quickly on scene, and parts of the mall were evacuated as a precaution.

No further details have been released as of now.
