Pedestrian fatally hit by multiple vehicles on I-95 in Warwick.

A 33-year-old man from San Benito, Texas died Monday night after being struck by multiple vehicles on I-95 in Warwick.

Rhode Island State Police say the man was a passenger in a van traveling southbound when he unexpectedly exited the moving vehicle near the Route 37 exits shortly after 9:30 p.m.

Moments after stepping onto the highway, he was hit by several cars and pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released his identity, and the investigation is ongoing.
