CRANSTON, R.I. — Police are investigating after a person was shot and killed in Cranston Monday morning in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Dyer Avenue.

Cranston Police Major Todd Patalano said the victim has not yet been identified, and did not say if any arrests have been made.

Officers remain at the scene, where multiple evidence markers were visible on the ground.

There has been a recent influx in crime in Cranston, with a shooting at Garden City Center in July, and Thursday’s arrest of a Cranston man on gun and drug charges at a home day care.
