Car was trapped under tractor trailer on I-95 North near exit 37 in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A serious crash around noon today on I-95 North in Providence caused a car to be trapped under a tractor trailer. The accident caused traffic backups starting at Exit 37 (Broadway).

Emergency crews this afternoon worked to free the driver, and only one lane was open for a period of time, causing heavy delays in the area.

The scene has since been cleared and traffic is moving normally.
