WARWICK, R.I. — Nonstop flights from Rhode Island to Cabo Verde, also known as Cape Verde, are set to return, restoring a direct international connection.
The service will connect flights from Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD) to Praia International Airport (RAI), also known as Nelson Mandela International Airport, in Cabo Verde’s capital, Praia.
Service returning after several years
Flights between Rhode Island and Cabo Verde ended in 2018, but airline officials say the service will resume May 4, 2026. The route will operate weekly, with flights scheduled on Mondays.
What travelers can expect
The weekly service will provide direct access to Praia, eliminating the need for multiple connections and reducing travel time for many passengers flying between Rhode Island and Cabo Verde.
Strong ties to the community
Rhode Island has one of the largest Cabo Verdean populations in the United States. Officials say the return of flights will strengthen family and cultural ties while also supporting tourism and business travel.
Boost for international travel at PVD
The return of Cabo Verde flights supports efforts to expand international service at Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport. Officials say additional global routes can help grow the local economy and attract more visitors.
