NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. — The Rustic Tri-View Drive-In in North Smithfield is officially back for its 75th season, marking a major milestone for one of Rhode Island’s most beloved movie destinations.
The historic three-screen drive-in will open its gates Friday evening to kick off another season of movies under the stars, continuing a tradition that has made it a longtime favorite for generations of Rhode Islanders. Officials said gates open at 6:30 p.m. as moviegoers return to celebrate the landmark anniversary year.
Opening night will have double features across its screens, including The Super Mario Galaxy Movie followed by Hoppers, and Project Hail Mary followed by Crime 101, with each ticket including two back-to-back films.
Located on Eddie Dowling Highway, the Rustic Tri-View remains one of the few surviving drive-in theaters in New England and continues to draw families each spring through fall with its nostalgic outdoor movie experience.
This season’s opening marks not just the start of another year of films, but a celebration of 75 years of drive-in movie memories in northern Rhode Island.
