KINGSTON, R.I. — A former University of Rhode Island (URI) pitcher Trystan Levesque is headed to one of the most popular teams in exhibition baseball after being selected by the Savannah Bananas in Thursday’s draft.
Trystan Levesque, 23, of East Lyme, Connecticut, was chosen in the fifth round and will join the fast-growing Banana Ball Championship League. The league features the Bananas along with the Party Animals, Firefighters, Texas Tailgaters, and its two newest franchises, the Loco Beach Coconuts and the Indianapolis Clowns.

Banana Ball has exploded in popularity in recent years, playing at major sporting venues across the country, including MLB, NFL, and college stadiums.
As part of their 2026 world tour, the Bananas are scheduled to play their first-ever games at Gillette Stadium on August 28 and 29. There they will take on the newly added Loco Beach Coconuts.
