PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Providence-based creamery Tizzy K’s has completed a new manufacturing facility in Rhode Island, marking a major expansion for the fast-growing ice cream brand.
The company, known for its cereal milk ice cream, says the new space will allow it to significantly scale production while improving product quality.
Major boost in production capacity
The new facility replaces the company’s use of shared commercial kitchens, giving Tizzy K’s a dedicated space designed specifically for its signature product.
Company leaders say the move will increase production capacity by nearly 10 times, creating room for regional expansion.
“This facility represents a big inflection point for our business,” said CEO and co-founder Kelly Ireland. “We can now produce 10 times more ice cream while also improving quality.”
Founders celebrate milestone
Co-founder and president Tess Sullivan, known as “Tizzy,” called the opening a long-awaited step forward for the company.
“We finally have a home where our cereal milk can flow like a river,” Sullivan said. “Soon, even more Rhode Islanders will be able to enjoy our ice cream.”
Retail locations reopening for the season
The announcement comes just ahead of the seasonal reopening of Tizzy K’s flagship Providence location near the pedestrian bridge, scheduled for Friday, April 3.
The company’s Warren location is also expected to reopen in the coming weeks.
