Two individuals are accused of robbing a frozen lemonade truck at Roger Williams Park on Saturday, according to a Providence police report.
Officers responded to 1000 Elmwood Avenue around 2:29 p.m. following a report of a robbery. The victim told police he was operating the lemonade truck near the entrance of the zoo when two suspects wearing ski masks and carrying a hammer, approached the vehicle.
According to the report, the suspects reached across the counter, opened the front passenger-side door, and climbed into the truck.
The report states that the suspects demanded money, prompting the victim to hand over cash from both the register and his pockets. When he told them he had no more, the suspects fled in a vehicle parked near the zoo entrance.
With help from a witness who identified the fleeing vehicle, police later arrested two individuals: Anthony Encarnacion and Jeremiah Rosello-Gillen. According to the report, they are facing charges of first-degree robbery, conspiracy, and receiving stolen goods.
Providence police also linked the pair to an earlier assault that same day. Officers responded to Union Avenue at Ricom Way around 5:54 a.m. for a reported assault. The victim told police he was riding his bike when two suspects ripped a string bag from his back and rummaged through his pockets.
