EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The American Cancer Society is preparing to bring the 2026 Relay For Life of Greater Providence back to East Providence later this month, offering a day focused on celebrating cancer survivors, honoring loved ones who passed, and raising money to support cancer research and patient services.

The free community event is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Pierce Memorial Stadium, located at 201 Mercer St. Organizers say no registration is required for people who simply want to attend.

Relay For Life serves as one of the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising events, bringing together teams, survivors, caregivers, and community members in support of cancer awareness and research efforts. Participants often walk the track in shifts throughout the event to symbolize that cancer never stops.

This year’s event will feature music from DJ Mike D, food vendors, activities, raffles, themed laps, and the event’s luminaria ceremony, which honors loved ones lost to cancer while recognizing those currently fighting the disease.

Organizers said cancer survivors and caregivers will also be recognized during a special Survivor Lap celebration.

In addition to raising money for cancer research, Relay For Life supports programs including patient assistance services, advocacy efforts, and community resources provided through the American Cancer Society. Teams and participants are encouraged to raise money throughout the season through donations, sponsorships, and on-site fundraising activities.

Community members interested in attending can participate for free, while those interested in supporting fundraising efforts can create a team or donate through the event page.
