NARRAGANSETT, R.I. — Crazy Burger Café & Juice Bar closes. Known for its creative menu, announced Friday that it is closing permanently after 30 years in business. The news came as an unwelcome surprise to generations of diners who made the café part of their summer routines, weekend traditions, and late-night cravings.

In a message shared with followers, the owners said financial strain had ultimately forced the closure, noting that the business shuttered before a sale could be completed. They expressed deep gratitude to the community for three decades of loyalty and support.

The café was listed for sale earlier this fall as its owner prepared for retirement. The $475,000 package included the restaurant’s brand, recipes, equipment, and inventory, but not the building itself. Crazy Burger’s colorful personality and inventive dishes, including its expansive burger lineup and popular juice bar, helped it earn both local devotion and national attention, including an appearance on “Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service.”

The restaurant also made an appearance on season 8 of Guy Fieri’s hit series Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives where Fieri raved about the Whassupy Burger, a unique creation featuring melted Brie and a sesame-fennel-wasabi spice blend. Years later it appeared on the show’s spin-off, Triple D Nation, where Fieri revisits some of the most memorable restaurants he has featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives to see how they’ve evolved over time.

With the lights now off at the iconic corner spot, Narragansett loses more than a restaurant. It marks the end of an era that blended creativity, community, and a distinctly Rhode Island sense of character, leaving loyal patrons with memories instead of menus as the holiday season begins.
