Meet our Dog of the Week, Romero!
Romero would like to know what everyone is doing and, more importantly, why he wasn’t invited.
This happy, social 1.5-year-old Plott Hound mix has places to go, dogs to meet, yards to explore and absolutely no intention of sitting out the fun.

Going for a walk? Romero is coming. Heading into the yard? He’s ready. Planning an adventure? He has cleared his schedule.
Romero is active, playful and ridiculously handsome. He would thrive with a family that enjoys getting out, exploring and including their dog in the fun.
His daily routine:
- Long walks
- Games of fetch
- Sniffing everything
- Time with his people
- Playing with dog friends
- Sitting still… when absolutely necessary
Romero also LOVES other dogs. A playful canine friend would give him a built-in best friend, workout partner and adventure buddy.
He’s simply looking for a family, some adventures, a few good toys and people to call his own.
The Heart of RI has adoption hours Tuesday from 2–6 p.m., Wednesday from 3–7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at 44 Worthington Road in Cranston.
