CRANSTON, R.I. — Cranston Police say two men are in custody after a targeted shooting in Garden City Center late Wednesday morning.
According to investigators, a man walking out of L.A. Fitness was shot at multiple times by someone who exited a vehicle and opened fire. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the intended target ran to safety inside a nearby store.
Police say the suspects fled the scene and were spotted by the Rhode Island State Police, who pursued them to the Providence Place Mall parking garage, where both men were arrested and a firearm was recovered.
The suspects have been identified as:
Andres Pizarro, 21, of Fall River
Andre Ross, 31, of Pawtucket
Police say both men have extensive criminal records. The shooting is believed to be targeted and not random.

Andres Pizarro:
• Assault with intent to commit a felony
• Discharge of a firearm while committing a crime of violence
• Carrying a pistol without a permit
• Discharging a firearm in a compact area
• Felony conspiracy
Andre Ross:
• Assault with intent to commit a felony
• Felony assault with a dangerous weapon
• Felony conspiracy
• Also facing Superior Court violation after being released on bond for a previous charge
Rhode Island State Police Charges
Andres Pizarro:
• Carrying a pistol without a license
• Obstruction of an officer
• Resisting arrest
Andre Ross:
• Possession of a stolen motor vehicle
• Reckless driving/eluding – high-speed pursuit
• Leaving the scene of an accident – attended vehicle (2 counts)
• Obstruction of an officer
• Resisting arrest
Both suspects are being held at the Rhode Island State Police Headquarters and are scheduled to appear in Sixth District Court in Providence on Thursday morning.
