COVENTRY, R.I. — A former Coventry man has been arraigned on 18 child sex related charges connected to alleged sexual abuse involving juveniles known to him, according to Coventry police.
Authorities said a grand jury returned a true bill on May 6 against 64-year-old Ken Marrocco following what investigators described as a lengthy investigation that began in 2025.
Marrocco pleaded not guilty in Superior Court to all charges including:
- One count of first-degree child molestation sexual assault
- Five counts of first-degree sexual assault
- Three counts of second-degree child molestation sexual assault
- Six counts of second-degree sexual assault
- One count of assault with intent to commit first-degree sexual assault
- One count of indecent solicitation of a child
- One count of possession of child pornography
Prosecutors allege investigators recovered sexually explicit text messages from the victim’s phone in which Marrocco allegedly solicited sexual activity from a 15-year-old girl. In court, prosecutors also said investigators found a video and additional material on Marrocco’s phone that the grand jury determined to be child pornography.
The state requested that Marrocco be held without bail. However, a judge declined the request and instead ordered home confinement, a no-contact order and limited internet access conditions.
According to police, the allegations involve the sexual abuse of juveniles over several years, including a 15-year-old girl known to him.
The Coventry Police Department said it continues to take allegations involving sexual abuse and sexual assault seriously. Investigators are encouraging anyone with additional information connected to the case to contact investigators at (401) 826-1100 or email tips@coventrypd.org.
