Man accused of fleeing from crash after police chase in Coventry taken into custody

COVENTRY, R.I. — A 23-year-old man accused of fleeing from a crash after a police chase with injuries is now in custody.

Police said David Anthony turned himself in on Friday in connection with the September 6 incident.

According to investigators, Anthony fled a traffic stop, driving a pickup truck that collided with another vehicle. The occupants of that vehicle had to be extricated and were transported to the hospital.

Anthony faces multiple charges, including failure to stop at an accident resulting in injury, reckless driving, eluding police, driving with a suspended license, and obstructing an officer. He is being held at the ACI and is scheduled to appear in Superior Court on September 22.
