WWE legend Hulk Hogan passed away at the age of 71. Emergency crews responded to his Clearwater, Florida home early Thursday morning following a reported cardiac arrest.

Hogan, born Terry Bollea, was transported by stretcher to a waiting ambulance as several police and EMT vehicles surrounded the residence.

The larger-than-life wrestler helped bring professional wrestling into the mainstream in the 1980s and 90s. With his signature charisma and catchphrases, he became a household name and pop culture icon.

Hulk Hogan appeared at the Providence Civic Center multiple times during his wrestling career.

He was most recently in Rhode Island last summer promoting his new beer line.
