WESTERLY, R.I. — Westerly police are investigating after what appears to be a human leg bone discovered Wednesday morning on Everett Avenue, just a street over from the iconic Ocean House and up the road from Taylor Swift’s Watch Hill mansion.

Officers responded around 9:30 a.m. following reports of possible human remains. The bone was turned over to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office for further analysis.

Officials are still working to confirm the identity of the remains. The case is being investigated by the Westerly Police Department’s Detective Division.

Police said no foul play is suspected at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.

Update: The remains discovered last month have officially been identified as 31-year-old Eric Wein of Massachusetts.
