PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Three Rhode Island college football players are getting their shot at the next level after agreeing to deals with NFL teams following the 2026 draft.
Among them is Ty Pezza, a former standout at Brown University, who has agreed to a deal with the Baltimore Ravens.
He is joined by University of Rhode Island outside linebacker A.J. Peña, who is also headed to the Ravens’ rookie minicamp, and Brown’s Elias Archie, who will attend the Los Angeles Chargers’ rookie minicamp.
While not selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, signing as undrafted free agents or earning opportunities with teams is a common path for players looking to make a roster. These deals often include invitations to rookie minicamps, where players can compete for a spot on the team.
For Rhode Island football, the signings highlight the continued ability of local programs to develop talent capable of reaching the professional level.
