Armed robbery suspect barricaded in Cranston home

CRANSTON, R.I. — Cranston Police have shut down a section of Warwick Avenue near Henry Street this Wednesday morning as they investigate an armed robbery suspect barricaded in a Cranston home. Officers on scene have established a perimeter around a specific home and evacuated nearby residents as a precaution.

Several officers have been seen with guns drawn, using a loudspeaker to issue commands to someone inside the house. Police are urging the public to avoid the area while they work to safely resolve the situation.

UPDATE: The armed robbery suspect has been arrested. He has been identified as 31-year-old Jullion Pope.
