EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Brasa y Chifa is expanding into East Providence, with the popular Providence restaurant set to open a second Rhode Island location.
The new restaurant is expected to open at 2792 Pawtucket Avenue, according to project announcements, though an official opening date has not yet been announced.
The expansion follows the success of the original Providence location, which has built a following for its blend of Peruvian and Chinese cuisine, often referred to as “Chifa,” a style of cooking that developed from Chinese immigrant influence on Peruvian food traditions.
The restaurant has become known for menu offerings including rotisserie chicken, rice dishes and other fusion-inspired specialties.
Brasa y Chifa was created by brothers Diego and Omar Curi, the owners behind the popular Los Andes restaurant in Providence.
