CRANSTON, R.I. — Feed the Cheeks reopens after a vehicle crashed into its Garden City storefront, causing damage that temporarily shut down the business.

The popular dessert shop, located on Hillside Road in Cranston’s Garden City Center, temporarily closed after a driver slammed into the storefront on April 15, causing damage to the front entrance. Police said the driver was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Following the crash, the business announced on social media that it would close while repairs were completed, assuring customers the closure would only be temporary.

The cookie and dessert shop has since reopened and resumed normal operations after crews repaired the damage caused by the crash.

Cranston police identified the driver as 42-year-old Hendrick Jensen of Florida. Authorities said he had been leaving a nearby restaurant before driving into the building.
