PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A large crowd is already gathered at Providence Place Friday morning for the release of the newest Apple iPhone 18.
Well over 100 people were lined up outside the Apple Store early this morning, waiting for the chance to get their hands on the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which officially go on sale today, September 18.
The Providence Place Apple Store is opening at 8 a.m. today, two hours earlier than its normal opening time for the launch.

Apple’s new Pro models feature the A20 Pro chip, a new 48MP main camera with variable aperture and improvements to battery life and performance.
The Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and AirPods 5 are also arriving in stores today.
For anyone wondering whether people still line up for a new iPhone — the crowd at Providence Place this morning appears to answer that question.
Would you wait in line for the newest iPhone?
