PVDFest 2026 returns to Downtown Providence September 18–19

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — PVDFest 2026 returns to Downtown Providence Friday, September 18, and Saturday, September 19, bringing two days of free music, art, food, markets and cultural programming. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, September 20.

Events will take place at Kennedy Plaza, the Providence Rink, Burnside Park and surrounding streets near City Hall. Friday’s festival runs from 5 to 10 p.m., with Saturday events scheduled from noon to 10 p.m.

Big Freedia Headlines Saturday

New Orleans performer Big Freedia will headline the Plaza Stage Saturday at 8:30 p.m., joined by Providence’s Earl Bright & Elevated Choir.

Friday night will close with salsa orchestra La Excelencia, performing from 9 to 10 p.m. Providence native and Grammy Award-winning musician Butch Tavares is also part of this year’s lineup.

Music, Art and Activities

Friday features the LUV U BETTER Block Party at the Providence Rink, with R&B, soul, dance and hip-hop from 5 to 10 p.m.

Burnside Park will host the Illuminated Night Market, featuring local artists, makers and small businesses.

Saturday’s programming includes the PVDFest Mural Battle, live glassblowing, a community LEGO build, fashion programming and maker activities.

People’s Parade

The PVDFest People’s Parade returns Saturday at 3 p.m., beginning at Greene and Washington streets and traveling along Washington Street before ending at the Plaza Stage in Kennedy Plaza.

This year’s grand marshals are Butch Tavares, Rommel Montes de Oca and Danielle Lucini.
