West Warwick police investigate video of person in KKK like robe

WEST WARWICK, R.I. — Rhode Island police are investigating after a viral video surfaced on social media showing a person wearing a white robe and pointed hood resembling Ku Klux Klan (KKK) attire walking through the center of town.

The footage, recorded early Monday morning, appears to show the individual moving along Main Street around 2 a.m., prompting concern from residents and business owners.

Authorities in West Warwick confirmed they are actively looking into the incident after the video circulated widely online.

Witnesses described the sight as disturbing, with one person saying the encounter was unsettling enough to leave the area immediately. A local business owner also captured the individual on surveillance footage and contacted police.

Officials said the person was seen walking through the area wearing what appeared to be a robe and hood resembling Ku Klux Klan attire. Police have not released information about the individual’s identity or possible motive.
