WEST WARWICK, R.I. — Rhode Island police are investigating a viral video on social media showing a person walking through the center of town wearing a white robe and pointed hood, attire associated with the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).
The footage, recorded early Monday morning, shows the individual moving along Main Street around 2 a.m., prompting concern from residents and business owners.
Witnesses described the sight as disturbing, with one person saying the encounter was unsettling enough to leave the area immediately. A local business owner also captured the individual on surveillance footage and contacted police.
Authorities have not released information about the individual’s identity or possible motive.
