Meet our Dog of the Week, Leo!
Some dogs leave a lasting impression the moment you hear their story. Leo is unfortunately one of them. Before he ended up AT the Heart of RI, Leo endured heartbreaking neglect. He was confined to a crate far too small for him, starved, and forgotten about. His former owner was charged with animal cruelty, and Leo was FINALLY given the chance he always deserved.
Today, this 1 year old, 30 pound, Bully mixed breed is everything you would hope for in a best friend. He is happy, affectionate, and absolutely loves being with people. He enjoys adventures outside, making new friends, and showing off his signature zoomie style. He was even the star of a yoga class fundraiser, winning over everyone he met and absolutely loving every minute.
Despite everything he has been through, Leo still greets the world with love and trust. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready for the family he has been waiting his whole life to find.
We promised Leo that his best days are still ahead of him. Help us keep that promise by sharing his story.
The Heart of RI has adoption hours every Tuesday 2-6pm, Wednesday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm at 44 Worthington Road, Cranston. You can also apply online by clicking the link in their Instagram bio: @HeartofRI. All policies, procedures, fees and other adoptable animals are always listed at HeartofRI.org.
NOTE: What’s going on in Rhode Island is not responsible for Leo and we do not have further information on him. Please contact The Heart of RI directly for all questions.
Every Saturday we post “Dogs of the Week”, or a “Dog of the Week”- to help them find a forever home, so please keep checking back in to find yourself a new best friend.
