Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have made a $1 million donation to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank as part of a $26 million charitable campaign benefiting 20 nonprofit organizations across the country.
The nationwide effort includes support for food banks, children’s hospitals, education and music programs, first responder organizations, and animal welfare groups. Other organizations receiving donations include Food Bank For New York City, City Harvest, Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Feeding America, the ASPCA, and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, along with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
Swift, who spends part of the year in Rhode Island and owns a home in Watch Hill, Westerly, has maintained close ties to the Ocean State for years. The Rhode Island Community Food Bank says the donation will help provide nutritious meals to thousands of Rhode Islanders facing food insecurity.
The donation also comes as reports continue to circulate that Swift and Kelce are expected to marry this weekend. While neither has publicly confirmed those reports, the couple’s nationwide charitable campaign is already making an impact in communities across the country, including right here in Rhode Island.
