PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A legal battle connected to The Real Housewives of Rhode Island is drawing new attention after Brian Pontarelli, husband of cast member Rulla Pontarelli, filed a lawsuit accusing a woman of violating a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) after their alleged affair.
Court documents claim the woman signed an NDA earlier this year agreeing not to publicly discuss details surrounding the alleged relationship. The lawsuit alleges she later violated the agreement through social media activity and other public statements.
The dispute has become intertwined with storylines from the debut season of the Bravo series, where rumors surrounding Brian Pontarelli’s alleged infidelity became a recurring topic among cast members.
According to reports, the lawsuit is seeking financial damages and a court order preventing additional disclosures connected to the alleged affair. Pontarelli reportedly claims the public statements caused harm to his reputation and personal life.
The filing comes after Brian Pontarelli faced separate legal issues in Rhode Island last year involving allegations that he placed a tracking device on wife Rulla Pontarelli’s vehicle. That case was ultimately dismissed after prosecutors said the complaining witness no longer wished to proceed.
Rulla and Brian Pontarelli, who share two children, have publicly discussed challenges in their marriage during the show’s first season.
